Spike's disease is a hereditary disease which is most commonly associated with Border Terriers but has since been documented in many other dog breeds including Labrador Retrievers and Chihuahuas. It can also be referred to as Canine Epileptoid Cramping Syndrome (CECS) and it causes seizures. The exact cause is still unknown, but recent studies with Border Terriers have implied that a diet without gluten could help.
Whilst we are not a prescription diet, we have 10 fresh meals with no added gluten, with only our Pork of the Town and Tuck in Chicken containing pearl barley and quinoa. Our meals are complete and balanced and made with freshly prepared ingredients before being gently cooked. We’ll also pre-portion the meals according to their daily needs.
Whilst we do not add any gluten to our 10 core meals there could always be a tiny trace because there is a possibility that our suppliers are handling it on their site.
Remember to consult your vet before changing your dog’s food.
