Cushing's syndrome happens when your dog’s body makes too much of a hormone called cortisol. It’s also known as Hyperadrenocorticism (HAC). It's usually seen in older dogs - their pituitary or adrenal glands produce too much of a steroid called cortisol and your dog may be on daily medication to keep them stable.
There are no particular diets that are recommended by vets for Cushing’s disease, but as with everything, a good quality diet is a great place to start. Our meals are freshly prepared and cooked like you would at home. This means that they're gentle on the stomach and easy to digest. They’re also 100% nutritionally complete, so with Butternut you'll know your dog's getting everything they need as well as enjoying their dinner.
