Cushing’s disease, which is also known as Hyperadrenocorticism (HAC), is a hormonal disorder. It's usually seen in older dogs - their pituitary or adrenal glands produce too much of a steroid called cortisol and your dog may be on daily medication to keep them stable.
There are no particular diets that are recommended by vets for Cushing’s disease, but as with everything, a good quality diet is a great place to start. Our meals are freshly prepared, cooked like you would at home, and free from any nasties - this means they're gentle on the stomach and easy to digest. To keep your dog's fat intake nice and low, we'd recommend our chicken and turkey meals; like all our recipes, they're 100% nutritionally complete, so with Butternut you'll know your dog's getting everything they need as well as enjoying their dinner.
