Adding your delivery instructions through the courier app: The Best Way to Guide Your Driver
We know just how important it is that your Butternutter’s box reaches them safely and on time. To give our drivers the best possible chance of a smooth delivery, we recommend adding your instructions directly through the courier’s own app.
Whether you have a handy safe place or a favourite neighbour who is happy to lend a hand, providing details via the DPD App or through the Yodel app helps to ensure your driver sees them the moment they arrive at your door.
Top Tip: If your home is a bit of a hidden gem and trickier to locate, you can use these apps to provide extra guidance. This could be a What3Words code for your property or a mention of an easily identifiable landmark, like a bright red gate or a specific tree, to help your driver spot you straight away.
Adding Delivery Instructions via the Butternut Website
If you’d like your notes to appear right on the delivery label, you can add them through your Butternut Box account. Just a heads-up: please make these changes before your box cut-off time so our team has plenty of time to get them printed for your next box.
To make sure your driver gets the full message, we recommend keeping your delivery notes short and sweet. Our delivery labels have a limited amount of space, so very long instructions might accidentally get cut off. Keeping your notes concise is the best way to ensure every important detail makes it onto the label and into the driver’s hands.
To add instructions via our website, follow these steps:
Once you are logged in, just click on the person icon on the top right of your home page.
2. Click 'Account Details’.
3. Next, click ‘Edit’ where your default address is shown. You will then have the option to edit your delivery instructions below your address.
To add instructions through our app:
Open your app and stay on the 'Home' page.
Scroll to the 'Deliveries' section to see your upcoming boxes.
Look for the section titled 'Your Next Box'.
Tap the 'Edit' button next to the delivery address for that box.
Click 'Next: Add Delivery Note'.
Add your instructions.
Select the option to 'Add note and save' located just below your address.
Enter your notes and confirm to save the changes.
Once completed, you should receive a confirmation email and be able to see this shown on your account.
