We know that sudden changes in your dog’s diet can sometimes lead to an upset tummy, and if your pup has a taste for Butternut, they might not be keen on anything else (we can’t blame them!). But don’t worry—whether you’re waiting on a delivery, need a quick top-up, or just want a backup plan, we’ve got some handy solutions to help keep your pup happy and well-fed.
Need a quick top-up?
Good news! You can now find our meals at many Pets at Home stores across the UK. Check our Store Locator to see if there’s one near you. Just a heads-up—not all recipes are available in-store, so for the latest stock info, take a peek at our Pets at Home FAQ page.
Home-cooked alternatives
If you can’t get your paws on Butternut, a great short-term alternative is home cooking. Since our meals are made just like you would at home, this is the closest match for your pup’s tummy.
Some easy, gentle meal ideas include:
Chicken & rice (You can swap the rice for sweet potato for a grain-free option, and feel free to switch the chicken for another protein your pup is familiar with, such as plain cooked turkey mince.)
White fish, potato & green beans
For some added variety a handful of mixed dog-friendly veg like carrots, peas, cauliflower, or broccoli work a treat.
For more inspiration, check out our recipe page!
Just a note—These meals don't include the vitamins and minerals that Butternut does so it's best to keep them as a temporary alternative.
Waiting on a delayed delivery?
If your order is running late, don’t worry—our meals stay safe for up to 50 hours in transit, as long as they arrive cold to the touch. However, if you have any concerns, contact our Customer Love Team—we’re here to help! We’ll ensure your delay is reported, if not done so already and provide further support for you and your dog.
Top Tip: For peace of mind moving forward
We recommend keeping a few extra pouches in the freezer—they last up to a year unopened! To achieve this, you can simply bring forward your future orders to allow for an overlap or potentially change your plan to increase the amount of pouches- just ensure you edit this again after to avoid continued larger orders.
