Seeing Fat in Butternut Meals

Wondering About Fat in Your Dog’s Food? We’ve Got You!

Updated over a month ago

Our meals are gently cooked in their own juices. When the meat is cooked, the fat on the outside renders (melts) and releases flavour. When the meal is then chilled and frozen, the fat solidifies separately to the other ingredients.

You can see the fat in our meals because we don’t use any kind of emulsifiers, like many other pet food companies might - we believe in keeping our ingredients as natural as possible.

Sometimes the fat might appear yellow in colour, and this can be because of the inclusion of turmeric as an ingredient.

Fats are really important in a dog's diet because they’re the first nutrient to be used for energy and they’re highly digestible. Each meal is perfectly balanced with a fat content suitable for your dog - you can have a look at the nutritional breakdown of each meal here.
