We’ve harnessed the soothing magic of Meadow Milk to create a top-quality, calming chew that’s naturally built to last for yonks.
Our unique recipe promotes calm and wellbeing thanks to the natural power of alpha casozepine and amino acids, helped along by a dash of soothing chamomile and honey.
Each chew is personalised to your dog’s size, low odour, low in fat and contains none of the nasties.
Why so soothing?
Our Yonks Bars contain a magic ingredient called alpha casozepine, or as we like to call it, alpha casozzzzzzzepine.
You see, it’s been shown to reduce stress, promote wellbeing, and generally help dogs chill out and relax.
Our bars also have amino acids such as L-theanine and L-tryptophan, which are found naturally in things like green tea and milk. They help produce serotonin and dopamine, the happy hormones that work together with the alpha casozepine to keep your dog calm and content. Lovely stuff.
Ingredients
Cow’s Milk, Honey, L-tryptophan (1500 mg/kg), Milk Protein Hydrolysate (1500mg/kg), Green Tea Extract (contains 20% L-theanine) (500 mg/kg), Sea Salt, Chamomile
Benefits
Promotes relaxation without drowsiness or lethargy / Specially formulated to support relaxation in dogs
Helps contribute to emotional balance and calmness, while promoting positive behaviours in dogs.
Rich in protein and calcium to support muscle development along with dental and bone health.
Are they suitable for puppies?
We’d recommend these chews for puppies 4 months and older due to their puppy teeth. For context, puppies have 28 “baby” teeth which are replaced with adult teeth from the age of 3-7 months. New adult teeth have thinner and softer enamel layers (the white bit of our teeth) so daily use of hard chews could lead to wearing this enamel down. So we wouldn’t recommend pooches under one to have a chew a day.
Keep an eye out
Make sure you’re keeping an eye on your dog as they’re chewing their Yonks Bar. No need for full-blown staring (you know the stare we mean, it’s the one they do to you when they’re peeing - unnerving). Just keep a watchful eye to check they’re chewing it safely, and not gulping it down like it’s about to disappear.
Watch out for the last piece
As they chew, the bar will get smaller and smaller, until it gets to the point where they can almost ‘hold’ it with their paws. When it gets to this size, there’s a chance they might try and swallow it in one, which could cause them to choke. Instead of throwing it away, you can take this piece and pop it in the microwave to ‘puff’ it up into a light and crunchy snack that’ll be perfectly safe for them to finish off. 90 seconds at 800W should do the trick (in 30-second blasts so you don’t end up with a burnt Bar), and don’t forget to let it cool for a minute or two before feeding.
Remember all microwaves perform differently. Always watch the snack when heating and remove as soon as it is puffed up.
Top tip: If in doubt, size up
If you’re concerned at all about which size of Bar is right for your dog, it’s always best to size up, just to reduce the risk of a bit of the Bar getting stuck. You know your dog best, but if you’re still unsure, you can always reach out to our Vet Nurse team to help you chew-se (sorry). You can call anytime, 24/7 - the number is in your account dashboard.
Important: Always keep an eye on your dog when they’re enjoying their Yonks Bar.
