Finding the right diet for your dog can be tricky, especially if they're on the fussier side.
But don't worry, we're experts in fussy eaters so you've come to the right place. You can read more about why Butternut is ideal for fussy eaters here.
Getting started
When it comes to transitioning onto our meals, we usually recommend a gradual transition to avoid tummy upset. However, if you have a super fussy dog who isn't eating their old food at all, we suggest skipping the transition and going straight for a bowl of Butternut.
If you are skipping the transition, it's best to start with one of our leaner recipes (chicken, turkey, veggie, or game) for the first 5-7 days. These recipes are lower in fat and extra gentle on digestion. Sticking to just one recipe gives a dog's stomach time to adjust, and makes it easier to identify ingredients that don't agree with them (if any).
To take the pressure off your dog's digestive system, try feeding them little and often over 3-4 meals per day, rather than two big meals in the morning and evening. The pouches can be kept open in the fridge for up to 2 days, so just pop the open pouch in a Tupperware box to keep it fresh until the next mealtime.
Once your dog is happy with their new Butternut meals (and is pooping as normal), you can introduce other meals from our range so they have a nice variety in their deliveries.
