Travelling with Butternut

All of the meals that we make are freshly cooked and then immediately frozen. Just like human food, you'll need to keep the meals either frozen or chilled if you're travelling with them.

Many of our pet parents who take our food on holiday with them simply pop it back into the box from the freezer with the WoolCool insulation and ice packs to keep everything cool in transit. This should keep the food chilled for up to 24 hrs at an ambient temperature if you're perhaps travelling by car. (Pouches must be fully frozen prior to travel, and during travel, the box must also be fully sealed to ensure they do not thaw.

If you're travelling within Great Britain, Ireland or Northern Ireland, we can easily send a box of meals straight to your holiday address, so you don’t have to worry about packing them.

Before you book your delivery, just keep a few quick things in mind:

Postcode Availability: While we deliver to most of the UK and Ireland, there are a few select postcodes we can't reach just yet. If you have any trouble updating your delivery address to your holiday postcode, please chat with our team, and we'll be happy to check it for you.

Delivery Timeframes: For certain remote or distant locations, deliveries are expected to take up to 2 days to arrive. Due to the logistics involved in ensuring your meals arrive safely at these locations, we offer a smaller selection of delivery day options. As a result, you may notice some restrictions on available delivery days when placing your order.

Important: If you are moving or travelling between GB, NI and IRE, you will need to set up a separate account for each location. For example, if you live in Northern Ireland and are visiting Great Britain, you’ll need a dedicated account for each region. Please follow the setup advice below.

Unfortunately, at the moment we’re not able to arrange to send our meals overseas for you. If you're travelling abroad with your dog and you aren't able to take some of their usual Butternut meals with you in a chilled environment, you may wish to log in to your online account and delay your next delivery to make sure that we don’t send any more food until you're back home.

If you're travelling for an extended period and visiting a country where we stock Butternut, you're welcome to create a new account there. Simply visit our website, select the correct country and currency by clicking the flag at the bottom right of our homepage, then update your settings, save, check and complete the sign-up process by clicking 'Build Your Box'.

Important: Please note that this will create a new subscription. Be sure to manage any necessary changes, such as pausing or cancelling subscriptions before the cut-off dates, to avoid unwanted deliveries in either country.
