Changes to the pricing of your plan: Everything you need to know about our prices in the Netherlands and Belgium.

At Butternut Box, we believe that dogs deserve the very best in their bowls, and we’re committed to delivering that quality without compromise.

To maintain our standards and continue sourcing the high-quality ingredients your dog relies on, we are updating our pricing starting on June 1st, 2026 for our customers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Why our prices are changing

We have worked hard to hold our prices steady for the past two years. However, to ensure we can continue to deliver the same quality recipes you expect, two key factors have made this adjustment necessary:

  • Rising ingredient costs: The cost of sourcing human-quality meat, fish, and vegetables has risen significantly. We refuse to swap these for cheaper, lower-quality alternatives.

  • Fair pay for our team: As a proud B Corp, we are committed to paying our team a fair wage. Following recent increases to the minimum wage, we are investing in the people who prepare and pack your dog’s meals.

What will be changing?

  • Plan pricing

  • Surcharges - Applicable to the following recipes only: Beef, Lamb, Game and Turkey.

Note: We will not be increasing the prices on any extras from our treats, chews, and wellness range.

Where can I find my new box price?

  • Price increase takes effect from the June 1st, 2026.

  • You can view the new price on any box scheduled for after this date within your account.

To view your new box price, please follow these steps:

  1. View your ‘Deliveries’ section on the home page of your account.

  2. Click on any box that is due on or after the 1st of June

  3. Once selected, you will see ‘Your Future Box’ shown.

  4. Here you will see either the option to click ‘View order summary’ or 'Box Total'

  5. Once selected, you’ll be shown a pop-up message or drop-down menu. This will show the total cost and breakdown of costs for that box, reflecting the new price changes. Next to where it states 'Fresh Recipes,' you will also see the daily cost of your plan shown.

How to calculate the new daily price in your plan.

You will have received an update regarding your new daily plan price in the email we sent to you. You may notice this looks a little different from the price currently shown in your account.

To give you peace of mind on how this was calculated, you can find a clear breakdown by visiting "View Order Summary" or "Box Total" in your account. To find your new daily total, simply add your base price and surcharges, then factor in your delivery frequency:

(Fresh recipe daily price + recipe surcharges) ÷ Delivery Frequency.

Note: The delivery frequency is the number of days between your boxes (e.g., 14 or 28 days). Discounts and extras are excluded from this calculation.

This formula provides the most accurate breakdown of your updated daily price, ensuring you know exactly what goes into your dog's bowl and your subscription.

How to manage your plan costs

We want to help you continue feeding fresh in a way that works for your budget. You have total control over your subscription and can make the following adjustments at any time:

  • Review your account: You can view your updated plan details, including the specific price per meal, by logging into your [account].

  • Adjust your recipe mix: The cost of beef, turkey, lamb, and game has been impacted the most. You can lower your box price by swapping these for our surcharge-free recipes. We have eight delicious options to choose from.

  • Change your delivery cadence: If you have the freezer space, ordering larger pouch sizes or a larger box less often can help reduce the overall cost of your plan.

What happens next?

The price adjustment will take effect automatically for any boxes arriving from 1st of June, 2026.

You don’t need to take any action, but you can pause, skip, or adjust your recipes whenever you need to.
