Changing Your Dog's Age

At Butternut Box, we want to make sure your pooch is getting exactly the right amount of calories for their stage of life.

The good news is that you only ever need to enter your dog’s age once, when you first create your account. Our system then takes over, automatically updating their age as time passes.

This means that as your dog grows from a puppy into an adult, or moves into their senior years, we’ll know about it and can make suggestions about portion recommendations accordingly (in line with their other details, such as weight, activity levels, snacking habits, etc).

If, however, you make a mistake when inputting your dog's age on sign-up, don't worry - you can still change this.

Follow these steps:

  • Log in to your account via web or on the app

  • Click on My Dog on the left-hand side

  • Next to your dog's name, click the edit button

  • Update their age

  • Click update at the bottom of the page

  • You will be taken back to the home page of your account

Adjusting Your Plan

Updating your dog's age (or weight) will not automatically place them onto a new plan. You are in total control over what we send to you and when. If, after updating your dog's details, you wish to select a new plan - you can do just that!

Follow these steps:

  • Log in to your account via web or on the app

  • Click on My Dog on the left-hand side

  • Next to "His/Her daily amount" click the edit button

  • You will see their current portion with a + and - button on either side

  • On the slider below, you will see a range of kcals and a dark bar, this is roughly the recommended amount for your dog.

  • Use the + and - buttons to adjust their portion, using the reference amounts stated underneath the slider

(The above image is an example, with a fictional dog named Kit - this is not a picture of your account)
