Making Changes to Your Recipe Selection

A quick guide to changing your pup’s meals.

What Recipes Can I Choose From?

We offer a variety of gently cooked, nutritionally balanced meals your pup can enjoy.

You'll also be able to view available recipes, including nutritional information and ingredients, within your account (see steps below), or on our product page. This can be especially helpful if your dog has any dietary sensitivities or certain health

conditions.

Heads up: Some recipes come with a small surcharge due to premium ingredients. You’ll see these clearly marked during selection.

How to Update Your Dog’s Recipes

You can update your meal selection at any time through your online account or the Butternut Box app.

Quick Tip: Planning to change how many overall pouches you receive in your box?

If you want to increase or reduce the total number of pouches in your delivery, you’ll need to update your plan first.
You can only adjust your recipes to match the amount of pouches currently set in your plan.

Step 1: Log into your account

Go to butternutbox.com/users/sign_in and log in using your email address and password.

Step 2: Head to the ‘Your Next Box’ section on your Home page

  • Once logged in, you’ll land on your Home page.

  • Scroll down to the section titled ‘Your Next Box’—this is where your current recipe selection is shown.

  • Click ‘Edit’ on the right-hand side of your recipes which will take you to the ‘Fresh Meals’ page where you can make changes.

Step 3: Choose your new mix

  • Use the ‘+’ or ‘–’ buttons to adjust the quantities of your current recipes.

  • To try new meals, click the ‘+’ in the ‘more recipes’ section near the top of the page.

  • Scroll down to explore all available options and choose the ones you think your dog will love.

Step 4: Ensure your total pouch amount matches your plan

  • You’ll see your total clearly displayed at the bottom of the page, and you won’t be able to save your changes until this aligns with your chosen plan.

Step 5: Save your changes

  • Once you’re happy, click ‘Update Meals’.

  • You’ll get a confirmation email and see your changes reflected on the Home page.

Once you've updated your meals, you might see a little pop-up showcasing some of our extras—think tasty treats, handy supplements, and other bits your pup might love.
Feel free to have a browse and add anything that catches your eye. If you'd prefer to skip it for now, just click the ‘X’ to carry on with exploring other parts of your account.

Why Can't I Save My Changes?

Here are a few common reasons you might be blocked from saving:

  • Your recipe total doesn’t match your plan
    Make sure the number of pouches you've selected adds up to the total set in your plan (e.g. 14, 21, 28). If it doesn’t, the system won’t let you save.

  • You’re on your first box
    If we’ve already taken payment for your first box, the recipes are locked in.

    • You’ll be able to make changes from your second box onwards.
