Enjoying Butternut but looking for ways to manage costs? We’re here to help. Whether you're adjusting your dog's meals or exploring delivery frequency options, there are plenty of ways to stay budget-friendly while still feeding fresh.
Mixed Plans – A Flexible Way to Feed Fresh
Many paw-rents find a mixed feeding plan is the perfect balance between value and nutrition. This simply means combining Butternut meals with other food at home.
Here are a few popular mixed plan options:
Split the day: Serve Butternut for breakfast and another food at dinner.
Mix it in: Combine Butternut with kibble or other food in one bowl.
To adjust your dog’s portions or check how their current plan fits their needs:
Log in to your Butternut Box account.
Head to the ‘My Dog’ section.
Edit their daily portion directly.
We recommend checking out our article: Making Changes to Your Dog’s Portion Size. This walks you through how to make changes step-by-step, with extra tips and helpful context to guide you.

Save More with Less Frequent Deliveries
Ordering larger deliveries less often can help bring down the daily cost and reduce delivery charges.
Split One Pouch Across Two Days
If your dog eats 300g per day, you might save more by switching to 600g pouches:
Instead of 28 x 300g pouches (1 per day)
Choose 14 x 600g pouches (½ per day, over 28 days)
Top Tip: Store the remaining half of an opened pouch in an airtight container (like Tupperware) in the fridge; it stays fresh for up to 2 days.

Choose Recipes Without Surcharges
Some recipes come with a small extra cost. If your pup’s not too fussy, why not try switching up the recipe selection.
Recipes with a surcharge:
Wham Bam Lamb
You've Got Game
Gobble Gobble Turkey
Beef It Up
All other meals come without extra charges and are just as tail-waggingly tasty.
