Eligibility for Ordering a One-Off Box: Subscription Status and One-Time Orders
Please note: To order a one-off box of meals, you must already have a Butternut subscription set up and have placed it in a stopped (paused) status.
You cannot place a one-off meal order without a previously established subscription.
The one-off box option is designed exclusively for customers with a stopped (paused) subscription. You cannot order a one-off box of meals alongside an active, ongoing subscription.

Step-by-Step Guide to Placing a One-Off Order
If you've stopped your deliveries but want to treat your pup to a fresh box of delicious meals, here is the simple process for placing a one-off order.
1. How to Place Your One-Off Box Order
Log in to your Butternut account and head to your Home page.
Scroll down to the section that asks, 'Is there anything else we can do?'
From here you should see either of the following images to click on:
Click 'Get a One-Off Box'. We will fetch your latest plan details to create your box.
You will land on the One-Off Box page, where you will see the following key details for review:
Delivery Date
Delivery Address
Pouch Size
Pouches Per Box
Recipes
Extras
5. Need to make changes to any of these? Tap 'Edit' on the relevant section. Just keep in mind that your selected recipes must amount to the same number of pouches that you have selected on your plan. If you'd like to increase or decrease the volume of pouches, simply do so before editing your recipe selection.
6. Give all the details a final check to ensure everything is just right.
7. Hit 'Complete Order'.
That's it! Your pup's tasty Butternut box is now on its way.
Important Considerations for One-Off Box Orders
To avoid any confusion, please be aware of these key details when placing a one-off order:
Subscription Status and Payment
Ordering a one-off box will not automatically reactivate your subscription. Your account will remain stopped.
If there is an outstanding payment or debt on your account, we will be unable to process and send a one-off box.
Pouch Quantity and Minimum Order Requirements
Our boxes are packed in multiples of 7.
The system automatically calculates the number of pouches to best fit your dog's daily amount and previous plan frequency.
The number of pouches to be sent will be displayed when you place the order. If this quantity does not suit your needs, please contact our Customer Love team before completing the order for assistance.
The minimum order size depends on the pouch size:
For most pouch sizes, the minimum order is 7 pouches.
For our smallest-sized pouches (125g or 200g), we require a minimum order of 14 pouches.
Cut-Off Time for Changes
Any changes you wish to make to the delivery date, address, or contents must be made before the cut-off time for this specific box.
After the cut-off time has passed, our team will be unable to support with making further changes.

No, the one-off box feature is designed only for customers with a stopped subscription. If your subscription is active and you need extra food, we recommend that you either:
Bring your box forward: Select an earlier delivery date for your next scheduled box.
Update your plan: Increase the number of pouches per box or select a larger pouch size.
Alternatively, you can order a separate box of Extras only (such as treats or supplements), regardless of your subscription status.
I’m running low on food. What can I do if my subscription is active?
If your subscription is active and you need meals urgently, we suggest you bring your next delivery forward. While this will adjust future delivery dates, it’s the quickest way to get more food through your account. In most cases, you can bring a box forward by up to two days.
If you have a genuine emergency, please contact our Customer Love team straight away. Where possible, we may be able to arrange next-day delivery, though this depends on courier availability in your area.
Can I choose the exact number of pouches in my one-off box?
Yes, you can now edit this before placing your order. Once you have clicked 'Get a one-off box', you can simply click edit under 'pouches per box' to change the plan set up and tailor it to your needs. However, please do keep in mind there may be some restrictions on the volume of pouches per box, and pouches must always be packed in groups of 7.
Can I purchase Butternut meals without a subscription?
Yes, you can purchase individual pouches of Butternut meals at selected Pets at Home stores in the UK and Northern Ireland or in selected Maxi Zoo stores in the Republic of Ireland. Use the store locator on the Butternut Box website to find a participating store near you.
