How Our Plans Work: Pouch Sizes, Quantities and Flexibility

At Butternut Box, we offer flexible meal plans designed to suit dogs of all sizes and routines. Below is everything you need to know about pouch sizes, meal quantities, delivery frequency, and how to get in touch if you need a hand.

Pouch Sizes

We offer a variety of pouch sizes to suit your dog’s needs: 125g, 200g, 300g, 400g, 500g, 600g.

Meal Quantities and Delivery Frequency

Our meals are packed in multiples of 7 and are calculated based on your chosen delivery schedule.

The number of pouches you receive will reflect the daily portion size you have chosen for your dog.

Available quantities:

7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56 pouches

Examples:

  • If you're on a 300g plan with a 28-day delivery, you'll receive 28 x 300g pouches (one per day).

  • If your dog needs 800g per day, you’ll receive 2 x 400g pouches daily. A 14-day plan would deliver 28 pouches in total.

Please Note:

Options may vary slightly based on your selected pouch size due to weight restrictions and to maintain safe delivery conditions. When updating your plan, you’ll see all available options for your chosen pouch size.

  • Our smallest pouch sizes require a minimum of 14 pouches to help them stay frozen during delivery.

  • Our largest pouch sizes are limited to 28 pouches per box to keep the box at a manageable weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my dog needs more than 600g per day?

We’ve got you covered! We offer the 800g, 1000g, and 1200g plans, which provide 2 pouches per day for your dog.
If your dog needs more than 1200g a day, our team can help you set up a bespoke plan to suit your dog’s appetite.

Why can’t I select the number of pouches in my box?

The number of pouches in your box is calculated automatically based on the daily portion size you’ve selected and your chosen delivery frequency. This helps us ensure your pup always gets the right amount of food, delivered in a way that stays safe and fresh.

If the quantity shown doesn’t match what you were hoping to set up, our team can help adjust your plan where possible.

Please note: If you're looking to increase the number of pouches using one of our larger pouch sizes (e.g. 500g or 600g), there may be a limit of 28 pouches per box due to delivery weight restrictions. We can't increase the weight of the box above these restrictions but we’ll always do our best to find a solution that works for you — just give us a shout!

Can I order two boxes to arrive on the same day?

It’s not possible to schedule two boxes to arrive on the same day as part of a rolling subscription. However, we may be able to manually bring forward your next box if you contact us before the cut-off time.

Please note that this would need to be arranged each time, so if this becomes a regular need, we recommend discussing alternative plan options with us.
