  1. The account holder must email the Customer Love team at Butternut Box using the email address registered to the account.

  2. In the email, they must provide details of the authorised person, such as full name and email address.

  3. The account holder must explicitly confirm authorisation by telling us "I authorise this person to receive information about my account: YES/NO"

  4. The Customer Love team will record these details for future reference, and the authorised individual will be allowed to manage the account as specified.

Handling Account Changes or Cancellations

Account changes, including cancellations, can only be requested by the account holder. The request must be made directly via phone or email through the registered email address, so Butternut Box can verify the account holder’s identity. If the account holder has passed away, changes or cancellations can be requested by providing the following:

  • The full address, including the postcode

  • The name of the dog associated with the account

This information ensures secure verification before any changes are executed.

Third-Party Requests

Requests from unauthorised individuals for changes, cancellations, or information on a Butternut Box account cannot be processed. Non-account holders must:

  • Request the account holder to make the changes or share specific authorisation as outlined above.

  • Understand that data protection rules apply to all account actions, including minor requests such as updating names or dog details.

Why can only the account holder manage the account?
